AIPB Online Course Student Enrollment Agreement

This Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions under which AIPB agrees to provide and you, as the single enrolled Student, agree to use any AIPB Online Course. Your acknowledgment of these terms and subsequent access and use of the Course constitutes acceptance of this Agreement.

Admissions. Student is responsible for review of the Course description and requirements and is enrolling in the Course at the Student’s sole discretion. Student is making his or her own decision and undertaking the responsibility to fulfill all Course requirements prior to obtaining credit for completion of the Course. By proceeding to enroll and access the Course, Student agrees to pay AIPB for the Course and accepts AIPB’s refund policy, described below under “Tuition.” Upon completion of the enrollment process and payment of all fees due, AIPB agrees to provide Student with full access to all Course materials and to take commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that all Course materials are accessible during the Course.

Tuition. Student agrees to pay AIPB for the Course in full, including any applicable taxes, upon registration of Student in the Course. Student’s effective Registration Date will be the date payment is received and login credentials provided by AIPB. Student understands that the workbooks for the course are shipped after 10-days from your start date. This is due to the high cost of these materials. The workbooks may take 7-10 days to arrive, after the 10 calendar days of your official start date. Student may withdraw from the Course for any reason within 10 days of the Registration Date for a full refund of the Course fee, provided that Student has not accessed any of the Course workbooks by providing written notice to AIPB on the Refund Request Form. Beyond 10 days after the Registration Date, the Course fee is non-refundable, even if Student elects to not complete the Course.

Course Format and Support. Unless otherwise agreed, the Course will be provided online for remote access by Student. It is Student’s full responsibility to ensure adequate systems for accessing Course content online. For technical support, Student should contact tech@aipb.outboxin.info during normal business hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Time. For questions about the content of any lesson, Student should contact instructor@aipb.outboxin.info during the same period. Student has a reasonable expectation to receive a response within 24 business hours (not including weekends or holidays). Student consents to AIPB contacting Student via contact means provided during registration or in response to any inquiries.

Course Completion. To receive a certificate of completion and, for students seeking the Certified Bookkeeper designation to be eligible for certification exams at Prometric (included in the Course fee), Student must complete the Course by the date stated in the Course description and enrollment materials, if applicable. Upon written request and for good cause, Student may be granted an extension in AIPB’s sole discretion. Extension requests must be received more than 2 weeks prior to the current end date. The extension of an individual skills course—e.g., just Mastering Payroll, just Mastering Adjusting Entries, etc.—is for 1 month at a fee of $25. The extension of the Certified Bookkeeper Prep Course in its entirety is for 3 months at a fee of $150. Extension fees are not refundable, and taxes may apply.

Hold Policy. A “hold” is a permitted suspension of Student’s participation in the Course with a right to resume in the future without penalty. Student may request a hold of up to 90 days, for good cause, in AIPB’s sole discretion. Holds will be granted only for extenuating circumstances, such as military deployment or physical incapacity, and may require proof of such condition. The 90-day hold may be taken all at once or in individual sessions of 30 or 60 days. Some program holds may incur a fee and Student shall be made aware of this before the hold is initiated.

Limitation of Liability. STUDENT UNDERSTANDS THAT COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAM AND RECEIPT OF ANY CERIFICATION IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF ANY EMPLOYMENT OR OTHER BENEFIT. AIPB HAS NOT MADE ANY GUARANTEE WITH RESPECT TO THE COURSE OR ANY APPLICABLE CERTIFICATION. STUDENT ACCEPTS THE COURSE “AS IS” WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. STUDENT AGREES THAT AIPB SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO THE COURSE OR THIS AGREEMENT EXCEPT DIRECT DAMAGES CAUSED BY AIPB’S OWN NEGLIGENCE. STUDENT’S SOLE REMEDY IN THE EVENT OF ANY APPLICABLE CLAIM IS REFUND OF TUITION AND ANY EXTENSION FEES PAID.

Dispute Resolution. This Agreement shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict of law principles. In the event of any dispute related to the Course or this Agreement, Student agrees to provide written notice to AIPB and engage in good-faith mediation of such dispute for 30 days. Any unresolved dispute shall be resolved exclusively by way of binding arbitration in the State of Maryland. THE PARTIES EXPRESSLY, KNOWINGLY, AND VOLUNTARILY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY IN ANY PROCEEDING CONCERNING THE COURSE OR THIS AGREEMENT.

Full Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof. This Agreement cannot be modified except in a writing signed by the parties. In the event any provisions of this Agreement are found invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect. This Agreement may be accepted and agreed upon via electronic means, whether by signature or other electronic transmission of acceptance.
