Ideal before you start any accounting course, for on-the-job training or to nail down a skill you may feel insecure about.
Section 1: How a business keeps track of its money. How bookkeeping measures every item and activity in dollars. The “chart of accounts” made easy. Self-quiz makes sure you really know it.
Section 2: Every transaction affects two or more accounts. When you buy a car your Asset—Car account goes up, but your Cash account goes down. Double- quiz lets you practice as if you were on the job.
Section 3: Recording journal entries. Pick up the simple rules of double-entry bookkeeping. Which amounts go in which accounts and how to show this. Filled with examples. Double-quiz lets you practice until you know it cold.
Section 4: The general ledger accounts. Shows you what a ledger account looks like on a computer v. on paper. Explains how journal entries you learned go into the accounts. Now learn how to quickly find and retrieve financial information from the accounts—such as:
- your company’s cash balance
- your company’s sales for any month
- which bills your company has paid or not paid
And other financial information. Double-quiz lets you practice finding and retrieving financial information fast!
Section 5: The income statement and balance sheet. Snapshot of the financial statements and how they are compiled from the general ledger accounts.
Section 6: The accounting cycle. An overview of the accounting process from start to finish.

It is a good source for one that had previousely contact with bookkeeping. I liked it and am now learning adjusting entries, which I also enjoy.
Fairly simple understandable material to grasp.
Very good class. Wish they would continue to offer the manual class as I know we are going electronically but I feel that if they can’t do it on their own merit then they will not have a full understanding of it.
Great information
Straight-forward and relevant material.
Excellent

Great refresher course.
Material was a little bit more brief than I expected. However, since I was familiar with the subject it was a good refresher
Great aid in teaching.
The books were very detailed oriented. Sometimes had to much wording which confused myself and even my professor at times and allot of misspelled words. Other then that it was a great learning experience.
Extremely helpful for someone transferring into a double-entry system from a single entry format! The explanations were well put together and the practice work made training so much easier! Thank you for a job well done!

I believe knowing this basic information is a requirement for being able to However my funds are so tight which is one of the reasons I am doing this piece by piece. Thank you. record income and expenses accurately. I will be taking the entire course I would like to be certified by September 30th.
Perfect introductory course. It makes things simple, easy and clear.
Very basic information, good for a beginning bookkeeper.
This is one of basic important topic in accounting. The book is too light dealing with the subjects.
Nice refresher
it’s well written and easy to read, the only thing i would sugest that you add the accounting equation A=L+Owner’s equity. The way i was tought is that a credit or a debit is depending on the side of the equation is and what does it do to the account (decrease it or increase it) and that increases are always in the outside…..Also adding pictures will make the reading more pleasent
Great examples provided in this book… can challenge yourself with test questions
Excellent: informative, comprehensive, easy-to-understand and follow.
Excellent review of important Bookkeeping functions!
